Why isnt shave snow (recently introduced from taiwan) growing in the U.S and as popular to non asians in the U.S? Is it facing the same problem in Hawaii where people just prefer the orig. shave ice/ snow cones? I've have seen many popular shaved snow i.e (Cloud 9 in Chicago) close down. I would imagine this product to explode in the U.S by now just like how Yogurt exploded and died down several years back. Thoughts...opinions. Thanks!
I think the main reason for snow ice's stunted growth is the market they are targeting. Snow ice mainly targets asian markets. Most western people are not use to their ice "flavored", that is for the ice cream guys to do. Another detrimental factor is the high costs. Snow ice tends to sell for $4.00 + and you are very limited to the selection of flavors.
