What I meant by clear is just by the clarity of the ice, not "CLEAR ICE" which is used for ice sculpturing

How do you make block ice? Do you have special freezers ? We need to make block ice for our shave ice business (in India) and would like to understnad how to make block ice since we don't get good quality block ice easily here.

Regards,
Vicky

Ice blocks are made using a block ice maker. Its a pretty big machine which freezes the ice in cans using glycol.

Not all block ice makers use glycol. My 12 block is just like a freezer I fill the bags place them in and they freeze.

Yes Dfl138, you are correct. I have seen these machine's myself. But you have no problems with them? I mean such as during the freezing process when partial of the bag gets frozen within the ice.

I have had 0 issues with my 12 block maker. Have never had the bag freeze into the ice. The way it sits in the "mold" keeps the edges straight
