Has anyone used Torani Italian Syrup?

Postby Litespeeds » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:34 am

I was at my local Costco today and saw a bunch of different syrups made by Torani. I bought a bottle of Strawberry to try out but was wondering how this compares to the Hawaiian Snow concentrate syrup that I have to mix myself. Your honest opinion is much appreciated. Thanks.

The bottle is 25.4 fl oz and I tried the Strawberry which is ok but it is not as sweet as others that I have tried. There is a slight bit of citrus taste. Overall it is ok if I don't want to mix but I guess I need to try the other flavors to see what I like. The cost is $3.99 each bottle and making a total of 6 shaved cones, I have maybe just enough syrup for 1 more.

Yeah I saw these before, they look sort of like wine bottles. Although I did not try them before, it does look really sweet. Is this cane sugar or corn syrup?

You can only make 6? wow, I would imagine more. Thanks for sharing Litespeed!

The Torani syrup is made from pure cane sugar. I will have to try other flavors to report back. Can't wait to get my supply from HTK.

Yeps, Torani syrups are made from pure cane sugar, sort of like the same type we sell here in Hawaii. Torani flavors are expensive and is generally used for coffee and not normally used to pour onto shave ice. In terms of taste, we have sampled several and it tastes generally the same. It is a bit smoother than the concentrated syrup. Some people may think it is too light for shave ice usage.

I use the passion fruit flavor to make cocktails and used it on some personal shave ice when I was learning to make them. Its ok, but the cost is high and it doesn't have as strong a flavor. But will do if you have nothing else. I don't recommend.
