220 and shipping

Postby kapu kai » Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:01 am

Hi, need a few answers anyone. I plan to start a shave ice company here in the Philippines (the home of halo halo).I will need 220v machines and an answer to shipping here from the islands i imagine.Had my first shave ice at Matsumotos in Haliewa in 1979.Opened a small stand in front of a surf shop on the mainland in 1982 called believe it or not "Hawaiian Snow" using a manual Hatsuyuki.Tempted to try manual first or at least have one for backup.Like the fujimarca kinda.....mahalo

Kamusta Pare!....Hi....sorry no one was able to answer you questions for almost 2 years....Are you in the business already? Still looking for the 220V machine? For authentic and the best shave ice ever, you will need to invest on a block shaver. I know a website store that sells a 220V Swan (I bought a 110V from them). But they are a bit pricey here is the site:

I would try to contact them and see if they can ship it to the P.I.

If not, try HTK. They have a Fujimarca Manual shave (as seen on Hawaii 5-0)----see the posting on this forum--- for a fraction of the Swan. Here is the link:

I have made halo-halo with my Swan but some of my relatives are not used to eating it with very soft feathery ice. I guess you can make it more coarser by adjusting the blade but I don't want to dull my blade fast....I do primarily Hawaiian Shave Ice. I can make Halo-Halo but it will have to be with fine ice...they still love it regardless cuz you can only get Halo-halo from Filipino restaurants or bakeries here in Cali.

E-mail HTK and see about shipping.

Hope this helps....Good Luck!
