We plan on starting up our business this March. We were originally wanting to do a Sno Shack/Hut but we have not been able to find the land/lot to lease that hasn't been a ridiculous amount of $$$. So we are on to Plan B: a trailer. We don't want anything bigger than a 7x10. Something easy to squeeze into Markets, Community games, and other events.
My question is where do you get most of your business? Private events, sporting events, etc?

Also, if marketing is done right. Can i expect to see a profit within the first season (March-October) ? We have figured out initial investment to be around 10k.

I know this seems vague, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend you find out your ability to enter those parks and places you want to sell. I invested $20,000 buying a new shaved ice trailer before inquiring about these things here in florida. Every park requires you to be placed on waiting list behind other vendors that can take months. You have to register and pay money to get into events. Provided they have room for you. It has been very, very difficult getting started. I am still looking forward to this summer and hopefully will get into some parks and event. Just be careful and make sure that you have places for your business before such a large investment. Also there are county and city permits you will have to aquire. And florida makes you get a food managers permit even though you are not handling any food! LOL They are always going to get their money. Even if you don't. Anyways, good luck with your business. It should be fun and profitable once you get venues lined up.
