Aloha Everyone! My name is Rebecca and my husband's name is Sam. We just started our shave ice business over Labor Day week end in Michigan. We wanted to do a "test run" before next year's summer season. I am Native American and my tribe had a pow wow where we had our booth. Everyone loved the shave ice! Although we had a great week end and learned a lot we now have a lot of questions before we go to another event to try and make it even better! I will be posting my questions, hope everyone can help!

Mahalo!

[b]Hi i am Sal from Saint Louis Mo. It is late in the summer but i am getting ready to open up my shaved ice stand for a month or so. I currently sell it out of my pizzeria. I always loved going to local shaved ice shacks in st.louis and thought it was so neat (and tasty) I never thought i would open one but after investigating the business and realizing that it is a small investment here i am. If you go to facebook and type in PINKS HAWAIIAN SHAVED ICE SHACK you will see a little bit of what i am working on.
Any one selling machines get in touch with me on yahoo jvelasco82 of if you want to chat or have any questions.

ciao Sal

Aloha and Bula vinaka...we are a Fijian family and have lived in Hawaii, parts of Asia, Fiji and Idaho. We are starting out SMALL as a way to train street kids to start and manage their own micro-businesses. We worked with women and baking on our last project and now have more than 25 formerly housebound village women baking cinnamon buns for hotels, cafes and resorts in the South Pacific. We like to start small..no bells or whistles, and slowly, steadily, work our way up. This is a GREAT forum, chock full of information. Thanks to all participants...

Greetings ice people and wannabees: I live in Augusta Ga and sell shaved ice on weekends since I have a full time job as a professional scientist during the week. I own a Snowie 3000 that is powered by a 12 volt marine battery. I love it. It is fast. I chose it because I do not want to depend on electricity. It uses cubed ice which I buy in 20 lb bags from Publix grocery. I buy my flavor concentrates online from Hawaii Shave Ice. I buy my supplies (styrofoam cups, plastic spoons, napkins) in bulk from Sam's Club. I run a route on Saturdays covering dozens of auto dealerships, auto parts stores, Jiffy Lubes, auto parts stores. I have my shaver, cooler of ice, cooler of flavors, boxes of supplies in the bed of my pick up truck and have magnetic signs on my truck advertising my business. When I pull up to a potential spot the customers know instantly what I am selling and love to see me come back week after week. This would be a great thing to do during the week but like I said I have another high paying job during the week.
