Extension Cord with Shave Ice Machine

Postby pster » Tue Feb 14, 2012 4:43 pm

Hi,

Would it be safe to use an extension cord with your shave ice machine or would you need a dedicated outlet? In particular I have a Swan SI-100e that I would like to use outside, but need to run a cord to the machine. How many people here have used an extension cord?

Thanks.

We use an extension cord here in our show room all the time when we need to carry our machine to another part of our warehouse for testing. It shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of damaging the motor.

You can damage a motor doing that.

Thanks for the input. Do you use a generator?

I am guessing it will be damaging to a motor if it is used for a long period of time. When we use it, we let it run for no more than 5 minutes since it is just for testing work in our warehouse.

Ok. I read some conflicting info on extension cords so I was curious to see if the Shave Ice community uses them. Thanks again.
