Foot Pedal

Postby luism3 » Sun Aug 28, 2011 10:55 am

I am getting a battery powered Hatsuyuki, Is there a foot pedal that I can use for this machines? or can I modify an AC foot pedal?

Thanks

I'm sure it's possible as long as you know the electrical side to it. Good luck to you, and post some pics of it if you are able to do that "addon". =)

Aloha Luis,

I have a Swan and Hatsuyuki, and have been able to use the same pedal for both. I don't think you need one specifically for the Hatsuyuki. My best advice on the pedal is to avoid it getting wet from melted ice, I've ruined one that way :(

You can use the AC pedal for a DC set up. It would require some modification though. The pedal works by making then breaking contact causing the flow of current to start and stop.

You may have to cut the cable and use the continuity setting on a digital multimeter to find the correct circuit (wire) that are broken when the pedal is not pressed (usually the white or neutral wire). Once you find that you would simply wire it inline with the red 12V power wire on the shaver.

use only the red (postive+) wire through the pedal. Do not worry about the ground running through the pedal.

Hope that offers some help.

Yes, I have 5 shavers total (I know, it's an addiction)...a Hatsuyuki AC, Hatsuyuki DC, and 3 Swan AC and have been able to use the pedals interchangeably between them all :) Sorry for the confusion!
