Hatsuyuki 8C-8E Siezes up During Operation

Postby dougalhaven » Sat May 29, 2010 6:16 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my Hatsuyuki HC-8E cube ice shaver. During use, when I make a few shave ice and stop the machine to get a new cone or during a break in orders I'll discover that my machine "seizes up" when I go to make my next shave ice.

I've been able to occasionally grab the arms and free the machine up, but sometimes it's seized up so firmly that I have to take all the ice cubes out of it and pour hot water in to get it to free up.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? I can't imagine that this is the way it's supposed to operate. It's a real bitch when I have 10 people in line waiting for a shave ice and I'm dicking around with the machine trying to get it to operate. Any ideas?

thanks,

david

does it stall up and nothing happens ( like not powering on) ??
i got a machine used and had a problem as well and took 2 screws off each side (4 screws)
jiggled the wires on inside and it fired back up

Humm...It really depends on how many ice cubes you got in there. The machine has a safety reset switch to prevent damage to the motor so it will not work unless you hit the reset switch. Perhaps , it seems like you had left the ice inside of the machine for way too long so the ice cubes fuse together. I usually do not recommend leaving the ice cubes inside the machine for too long.

1. A lot of cease up's.
2. It will seep into the wires, and other parts of the machine that will leave to more future problems.
