OSP knockoff fujimarca

Postby chillos » Tue Jul 05, 2011 5:41 am

I have come across a company called OSP they are selling what looks like a knockoff of a fujimarca 709 at a fraction of the cost. I was wondering if anyone has seen, used or heard anything about them. I have got two fujimarcas, one that has about been worked to death and one that has some miles on it but still in pretty good shape. But I am looking to get at least a reliable backup or for a second event location. This machine is sold on ebay and all over the internet with a very enticeing price. But experience has told me that you usually get what you pay for. Any ideas??

Hello Chillos, you do get what you pay for. Knockoff shave ice machines are the same as knock off electronics or any other consumer good, they may look the same but usually not the case internally or structure wise. I have not heard of the model before, however I can guess that it is probably one of the many duplicates sold on the market today. Please remember that these machines are sold by importers with no knowledge whatsoever on how to fix or maintain the machine or shave ice in general. Lots of these sellers don't even carry parts to fix the machine which means that if anything breaks...you will be in trouble. At our office in Hawaii, we have had many stores bring back their machines to see if we can fix it, most of the time we just tell them outright that these machines are pretty much scrap metal once it breaks since there isn't a way we can find parts to replace it, and even if we are able to find it, the price of getting the parts and fixing it will probably cost more than the machine itself.

Since you have been using the Fujimarca and have been using it for awhile, I would recommend sticking with it. There is nothing worse than having your machine go down during a major event or when there is a line out the door.

:P I second that! , I've been using my genuine Fujimara from HTK for many years, and it's always worth the price for that piece of mind. Customer support and service is always superb from these guys!
