Electricity wouldn't be a problem for us, but I'm concerned about other factors like weight or sturdiness on a plastic table. I often see recommendations to use a cube ice shaver for temporary stands, but I've also heard that you're never going to get as fine of a shave with a cube ice shaver. The two block ice shavers I'm looking at are the Swan and the Southern Snow.
Has anyone had any experience using a block ice shaver like this in a similar situation, i.e. a farmer's market or weekly stand? Am I being wildly unrealistic by thinking this would be possible?
Thanks!
Andrew
Would I be able to use a block ice shaver at a Farmer's Market?
I've used block shavers on plastic-portable tables before without any problems. As long as the block ice you use isn't too large you should be fine, because of the weight of the block on the machine it may cause it to vibrate and shake very violently sometimes if it isn't centered properly.
I love Shave Ice, period.
