Shelf Life

How long does it take for syrup to go bad once it's made? How long do you guys use the syrup for?

If you added preservatives (sodium benzoate and citric acid) to the simple syrup you used, it should be good for at least six months. If you didn't, we replace ours every three weeks or so, and examine it regularly for black specs, white mound strands, and container bulging and throw out immediately if any of these occur.

Concentrates normally last one to two years in room temperature. In general, they do not spoil like syrup does but they do lose color and flavor over time.
